Bayern Munich's board have moved to shut down any doubts around Vincent Kompany's future, with Max Eberl insisting that the Belgian is already proving himself as a long-term leader at the club.

Eberl, Bayern's board member for sport, said he has been "amazed every day" by Kompany's work since the former Manchester City defender took charge earlier this year. He told Sport Bild that seeing Kompany behind the scenes has convinced him the club have found "a perfect fit".

"We see Vincent Kompany working every day, and seeing him up close is even more impressive than watching from the outside," said Eberl. "When a coach is successful at FC Bayern, they are naturally interesting to other clubs that are financially very powerful.

"But Vinnie senses that something is being built here. He wants to be a part of it and help shape it. We will also stand together if there is ever a rough patch."

Eberl added that Kompany's leadership qualities have stood out from the start. "His clarity about how he wants to play football, combined with the empathy he shows in treating people," he said, when asked what makes Kompany stand out.

Kompany's methods have already earned praise inside the dressing room, and Bayern are convinced he can anchor their long-term rebuild as they look to return to the top of German and European football.

Bayern Munich are preparing for their next Bundesliga test as they host St. Pauli on Saturday at the Allianz Arena, aiming to continue the momentum that Kompany's arrival has generated.
