Margeman: It's not fair to miss Downs game

SuperSport United midfielder Grant Magerman, who is on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, says he was disappointed to miss out on playing against his parent club last weekend in the MTN8.

When United play Sundowns again tomorrow evening (19:30) in a DStv Premiership clash at Lucas Moripe Stadium, just like his two teammates Ricardo Goss and Thabang Sibanyoni from Sundowns, Magerman will watch on from the stands due to the loan policy of the Brazilians and the agreement between the clubs.

The former Ajax Cape Town star, who scooped the Man of the Match accolades in two of the first five games of the season, feels that, with the form he is in now, it™s unfortunate that he can™t continue with the momentum against his parent club.

"It's a bit disappointing because, as a player, you always want to be part of these types of games  - the derbies, playing against the best teams in the league," Margeman told SABC Sport.

"It was a bit sad to not take part in the past [MTN8] cup match, and obviously having that taste last season when I played against Sundowns, I felt like I did well against them - even though we lost the game.

"So, it's a bit frustrating on the one side, disappointing, but I feel like there's probably a bit of extra motivation for myself to keep on pushing and work harder, to help the guys in the next coming games."

When Magerman was on loan to Swallows FC last season, he played against Sundowns in two matches in the league and feels now it is unfair that he can™t get that opportunity at SuperSport, though he notes that he was made aware of the agreement before joining Matsatsantsa.

"Obviously for me, I would say it's not fair because I'm now at SuperSport and I feel that there's more than enough quality at Sundowns, and me playing against them probably won't make that big of a change," he added.

"But, we knew what the regulations and terms and conditions were when I signed the agreement at the beginning of the season."
