Liam Rosenior hails 'impressive' Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez after Brentford win

Fernandez, who turned 25 on Saturday, started the win against Brentford, a result that secured Chelsea's first league victory since 13 December.

The Argentina international marked his birthday with an influential display, playing 85 minutes before being substituted.

Rosenior has praised Fernandez's impact both on the training pitches at Cobham and in matches, describing him as a "winner" and highlighting his mentality and consistency.

Since Rosenior took charge, Fernandez has featured in all three games, starting two of them and appearing as a substitute in the other.

His contributions have been decisive. Under Rosenior, Fernandez has recorded one goal and two assists, reinforcing his importance to Chelsea's midfield and attacking play.

Against Brentford, he played a key role in the opening goal scored by Joao Pedro, supplying an assist that was described as somewhat fortunate but proved crucial in setting the tone for the match.

Rosenior believes Fernandez offers more than goals and assists, pointing to his energy, composure in possession and competitive edge as vital qualities within the squad.

"So impressed. I knew what an outstanding player he was and I was actually at the World Cup final when he played," said Rosenior, via the club's official website.

"But it's not until you see a player up close and you get to know him and what he's about, and I have to say he's a winner. The reason he always plays is that he trains 100 per cent.

"I've enjoyed working with him and it's his birthday, so I told him to go to a steak house and enjoy some Argentinean steak. He is a magnificent player. More importantly, he's a fantastic character and I love having him in this team."
