Kerr resigned to Swallows chop

Swallows FC coach Dylan Kerr sounded like a man defeated in what could have been his final words as the Dube Birds boss following a humiliating 4-0 drubbing away to Golden Arrows at the weekend.

The Englishman™s reaction to the result, which left the Birds just two points off the bottom of the DStv Premiership table, paints a grim picture.

SABC Sport understands that Kerr could be sacked by Monday night.

The Arrows defeat was the club™s fourth of the season so far and supporters are already showing frustration with Kerr and wanting him fired.

On Saturday at the Princess Magogo Stadium they were a bit subdued, but the coach admitted he is worried ahead of his meeting with Chairman David Mogashoa.

œListen, after that result I don™t know what the chairman is thinking. But then again I have to take the responsibility, which I will. If the chairman feels that it™s time for change that™s his decision you know. "

Kerr, however felt that the drubbing they received should not have been.

"I don™t think it was a 4-0 game. We didn™t capitalise on our opportunities especially in the first half you know. I thought we had a few chances to score (but we made) wrong decisions, wrong choice of final pass, you know.

"[Mwape] Musonda could have laid one off to Linda but he went for the shot. [At] two-nil down the players believed they could get back in to the game again and I believed it."

Swallows though, just did not look. Like scoring, forcing Kerr to make substitutions.

"I didn™t think we were creating anything that™s why I made the change and put Malinga up front because of his strength and pace. But we didn™t get much service to him and I brought on the young boy Mosquito [Thato Makua], who is gonna be handful, to come in and try get back to the game. But then we concede the third goal that killed it for us."

The heavy defeat notwithstanding, Kerr was still full of praise for his team.

"The boys showed they wanted to play. They showed they had the right attitude. It just didn™t happen for us today."

And given his being summoned to the chairman's office, it might just not happen for Kerr. The Englishman could well have coached his last match for Swallows
