Keanu Cupido demands response as Sundowns face TS Galaxy test

The centre-back admits The Brazilians dropped crucial points in their previous outing against Orlando Pirates at Loftus Versfeld, allowing Kaizer Chiefs to draw level with them on points after 11 matches.

With Sundowns returning to the same venue to host The Rockets, Cupido insists that nothing less than victory will do as they look to regain momentum in the title race.

"As a player, you are always gonna win each and every game and I think it was up to us just to show up on the day. We let ourselves down and it's a game where we wanted to win and build confidence,” Cupido said.

“Also, going into this next game as well and then after that CAF as well but we know we need to forget about the previous game because there's always the next game. So, we came in, we are preparing for TS Galaxy now, we had to let go of the Pirates game where we let ourselves down as players."

Cupido is aware of Galaxy’s impressive form, which he adds Sundowns won’t take lightly. 

"Now we have another game where we are focusing on that game and also TS Galaxy won their last game, they have a lot of confidence also going into the next game and they are also doing well basically. So, we're just focusing on us and on the game," he added.

The defender argues that if Sundowns can deal with speedy wingers Puso Dithejane and Seluleko Mahlambi then it’s half the job done. 

"We know TS Galaxy is a team that wants to play on the breaks, so their two wingers are very good, actually young and quick. So, we know they rely more on them and we know that if we have to stop them then the game will be much easier for us."
