Kamil Grabara faces long spell out for Juventus after knee surgery

The 27-year-old confirmed the news in an emotional post on social media on Wednesday, sharing a picture from his hospital bed after the operation.

"I'm not going to lie, this is not something I ever wanted to post, but life comes at you fast sometimes," Grabara wrote on Instagram.

Grabara's injury comes just days after an impressive start to life in Turin. The goalkeeper, who joined Juventus on loan from Wolfsburg in August, made his debut in the club's 5-0 Europa League victory over NEC Nijmegen last week.

He enjoyed a memorable first appearance, providing an assist and being named player of the match as Juventus cruised to victory.

However, during training on Saturday, Grabara felt discomfort in his right knee and medical tests later confirmed an ACL tear. Reports in Italy suggest the injury could keep him out for up to seven months.

The setback also means Grabara will miss Poland's upcoming UEFA Nations League group matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Juventus are now looking for cover in goal, with local reports linking the club to former goalkeeper Neto. The 37-year-old Brazilian previously played for the Bianconeri between 2015 and 2017.

Juventus return to Serie A action on October 11 when they travel to face Cagliari at the Unipol Domus.
