John Stones targets more silverware after Inter Milan switch from Man City

The 32-year-old brings a wealth of experience to Italy after spending a decade at City, where he helped the club win six Premier League titles, three FA Cups, three League Cups, the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Inter confirmed on Thursday that Stones has signed a deal until June 2028, although the club did not reveal any financial details.

In announcing the signing, Inter welcomed their new defender by saying: "After making history in Manchester, John Stones is ready for his next chapter at Inter."

Stones said the opportunity to join the Italian champions was one he could not turn down and admitted the decision was an easy one for both him and his family.

"A new chapter, a new journey begins now. And what better place to do it," Stones said.

The England international also made it clear that his ambition remains unchanged despite leaving the Premier League.

"I still have the hunger to win more," he said. "I want to fight for every trophy and experience a different style of football."

Stones added that he is looking forward to linking up again with former Manchester City teammate Manuel Akanji and believes teamwork will be key to achieving success with Inter.

He also spoke about the honour of becoming one of the few English players to represent the Italian giants.

"I promise I will wear this shirt with pride and give my all for the club and my teammates," Stones said.

Stones is expected to make his competitive debut when Inter begin the defence of their Serie A title against Monza at San Siro on August 22.
