Inter Milan manager Cristian Chivu signs contract extension until 2028

Inter Milan manager Cristian Chivu has committed his future to the club after signing a contract extension that will keep him at San Siro until 2028.

Chivu's new deal came after a remarkable first season in charge, with the Romanian coach guiding Inter to a domestic double by winning both the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia.

The former Inter defender, who spent seven years as a player at the club, also earned further recognition by being named Serie A Coach of the Season after making an immediate impact in the dugout.

Inter praised Chivu's connection with the club and highlighted the passion that has driven his success since taking charge.

"Triumphs and spectacular achievements are possible only for those who truly know what it means to have passion for Inter," the club said in a statement. "That value has defined the entire season and will once again guide Cristian Chivu until 2028."

Chivu arrived at Inter in June 2025 on an initial two-year contract and quickly transformed the team into a successful side capable of competing for major honours. His understanding of the club's identity, developed during his playing career, helped him build a strong relationship with supporters and players.

The 45-year-old's extension showed Inter's confidence in his leadership and their belief that he could continue delivering success in the coming seasons.
