Inter Milan gear up for FIFA Club World Cup with bold transfer moves

The Nerazzurri, alongside Juventus, are one of two Serie A teams competing in the expanded tournament, and they are wasting no time in bolstering their ranks during a special transfer window from June 1 to June 10.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Inter have already secured one key signing. Croatian midfielder Petar Sucic, signed from Dinamo Zagreb in February, will join the squad in early June, ready to make an impact at the Club World Cup. "Sucic is a dynamic midfielder with great vision," said Inter's CEO Giuseppe Marotta, highlighting the 21-year-old's potential to shine on the global stage.

The Nerazzurri are also closing in on Marseille's talented left winger, Luis Henrique. The 23-year-old Brazilian, who has notched nine goals and nine assists in 35 appearances this season, has reportedly agreed personal terms with Inter. "Luis Henrique already said yes to Inter's project," reported journalist Fabrizio Romano on X, noting that negotiations with Marseille are intensifying to finalize the transfer fee. Inter aim to wrap up the deal before the tournament begins to add flair and pace to their attack.

Defensive reinforcements are also on the horizon. Genoa's Koni De Winter, a 22-year-old Belgian centre-back, has emerged as the top target, with Bologna's Sam Beukema and Jhon Lucumi also under consideration. "We need a defender who can step up in high-stakes matches," said coach Simone Inzaghi, emphasizing the need for depth to compete against the world's best.

Beyond new signings, Inter are set to welcome back two promising youngsters. Attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni, who suffered a serious knee injury while on loan at Marseille, is expected to return to full fitness. The 20-year-old's creativity could provide a spark in the attacking third.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old striker Francesco Pio Esposito will rejoin the squad after a loan spell at Spezia. Esposito, who is currently competing in the Under-21 Euros with Italy, could feature in the Club World Cup if his international commitments allow. "Carboni and Esposito are part of our future," Marotta has said, signaling Inter's commitment to blending youth with experience.
