The 29-year-old club captain was linked with a move to La Liga champions Barca during the recently concluded summer transfer window, with the Catalans eventually settling for Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal.
According to reports, the attackers' representatives had met with Barcelona sporting directors Deco and Bojan Krkic to explore the possibility of a transfer to Spain following the failed attempt to lure compatriot Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.
However, Inter president Giuseppe Marotta moved swiftly to state that the Argentine star was not for sale under 'absolutely no conditions', with the player also speaking out in solidarity with his club following the end of the transfer window.
"Barcelona links made me proud," said Martinez.
"When these offers and these calls arrive, it is always a pleasure, because you work to stay at the top. The rumours were true, but my mind is very clear.
"I wanted to stay here [Inter] with my teammates and with these magnificent fans. I would stay forever and, as long as they want me, I will stay here."
The Argentina international has made 378 appearances for the Italian club since joining from Racing Club, scoring 175 goals while providing 56 assists.
