'I feel so good' - Jamal Musiala takes another step forward for Bayern

Jamal Musiala was delighted to mark another important step in his return to full fitness after scoring in Bayern Munich's 7-0 Bundesliga win over Union Berlin.

The Germany international opened the scoring at the Allianz Arena with his first league goal of the season and completed the full 90 minutes.

It was only the second time Musiala had played an entire match since the start of last season, making the performance particularly significant for the 23-year-old.

"I managed to play 90 minutes, which I haven't done for some time. I'm looking forward to what's coming," Musiala said after the match.

The midfielder had last scored a Bundesliga goal at the Allianz Arena in Bayern's 4-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach six months ago. That was also the previous occasion when he had started and finished a league match.

Musiala was encouraged by his progress and believes each appearance is helping him get closer to his best.

"Every win and every game needs a lot of hard work and energy. I feel so good. Every game is a step forward for me," he said.

Musiala also began his post-match interview with a joke, with reporters initially expecting Bayern team-mate Michael Olise to appear instead.

His focus will now turn to international duty with Germany as he joins the national team for their upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against the Netherlands and Greece.
