South Africa currently occupy 60th spot on the FIFA world rankings while the North American nation sit in 33rd position, 27 places higher than the hosts.
Ironically, both countries last tasted defeat in January, with Bafana losing their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 tie against Cameroon and Panama losing to World Cup co-host Mexico, who face South Africa in the opening match in June.
