Ham looked composed and finding their control in the early stages of the game as Jarrod Bowen and Kurt Zouma both had efforts block in the opening 10 minutes, however Haaland stole the party for the Citizens after 36 minutes of the game.

The 22-year-old striker scored twice. In the first half he beautifully converted a penalty and wrapped up the points with a composed finish in the second period to cap an impressive display.

Just before 30 minutes, Pep Guardiola's charges showed that they mean business when Kevin de Bruyne finished off a neat move, but the goal was later ruled out after Ilkay Gundogan was offside in the build-up.

Haaland was more involved after the break, linking up play more, although he only needed one further touch when sent free by Kevin De Bruyne to slot home his second after some West Ham pressure to kill the game.

The Hammers struggled to carve out and reach the back of the net in any chances in their hand, it was City who doubled their lead in the 65th minute.

The Norwegian striker, who starred most of the game was deprived of the chance to complete his hat-trick when Pep Guardiola opted to substitute him with Julian Alvarez in the dying minutes of the game.

Next up for City is a home game against Bournemouth next Saturday.
