This is according to Amakhosi’s right-wing-back Reeve Frosler, ahead of their penultimate game of the season away to AmaZulu tomorrow at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
After clinching third spot last weekend, following their 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United, Frosler says now they have to focus on other targets...
"It's a good building block for us because we haven't reached that amount of points in the last five or six years. So if we can win these next two games we will be on par with what almost won us the league last time, and then we can push to be even better and higher up the log table next season."
With the main target of returning to the continental football achieved, an expectation will be that Chief will take their foot off the pedal, but not so, according to Frosler.
"It's going to be difficult to stay motivated. Our aim was to get into that top 1,2, and 3, and we managed to successfully do that now. We just have to stay professional and go out there to do the job. The more games we win the better we can start the next phase of this project."
Usuthu are two points clear of Sekhukhune, and heading into this game, they will be looking to lock in fourth spot...
Chiefs are finishing their season in KwaZulu-Natal, with their last home game of the campaign against Chippa United next weekend, also scheduled for Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Frosler is appealing to the Phefeni glamour boys supporters to come out in their numbers.
