Former Golden Arrows striker Lucky Njabulo Sithole celebrates fourth graduation milestone

Former Golden Arrows striker Lucky Njabulo Sithole graduated with yet another qualification, a Postgraduate Diploma in Risk Management yesterday at the University of South Africa (UNISA).

Sithole first garnered attention in 2017 while still playing for Arrows when he obtained his LLB, Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of KwaZulu Natal. In 2018, Sithole expanded his academic repertoire by earning a Master of Commerce in Maritime Studies again from UKZN.

In 2022, he obtained a Master of Science in Maritime Law and Policy from The World Maritime University in Sweden. Speaking to SABC Sport Sithole says he's thrilled as he's still gunning for another qualification.

"Receiving my fourth belt today and the fifth during the next summer is really an incredible feeling. It's a testament to the hard work, dedication and perseverance I've put into my career but to be honest I don't believe I could ever achieve all of these without the support of my family, friends and colleagues who support me through it all. To mention Steven Atkinson, who's currently playing a huge role in my career development," Sithole said.

Sithole highlights how Arrows chairperson Mato Madlala supported him while still studying and playing for the Durban-based DStv Premiership side.

"Mam Mato Madlala was and is an inspiring leader who played a very pivotal role in my development. She supported me during my time with Golden Arrows, acknowledging my academic aspirations and providing me with a platform to succeed. So, her guidance, all the resources and the most valuable thing which was flexible time arrangements enabled me to balance football and academics. I know everybody was asking how I managed to go through it all. I would say it was her and I'm deeply grateful for her belief in me and her motherly support which continues to inspire me," Sithole added.

The former striker also played for FC Rosengard in Sweden before hanging his boots. At only 30 years old, he now works as a Head of Legal Risk and Compliance at Manuchar South Africa.
