Durban City seek to bounce back in Polokwane

Durban City goalkeeper Darren Keet says Sunday’s clash against Magesi FC at Seshego Stadium offers a chance to return to winning ways after consecutive Betway Premiership defeats to Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows.

The Citizens could climb as high as fifth on the standings with a positive result in Polokwane.

The experienced shot-stopper says the focus in training this week has been on rebuilding confidence within the squad.

"I think definitely to put in some good hard work, get the boys feeling positive again and looking forward to getting back to winning ways. I think it's a good opportunity for us and we just gotta put in a lot more effort and make sure we show up on the day," Keet said.

Durban City have struggled on their travels this season, suffering six defeats in 12 matches away from home.

Keet adds that the team must return to the fundamentals, starting with keeping clean sheets and taking their chances in front of goal.

"First of all we have to try and keep a clean sheet. I think that's been our strength this season, it's defending and then we gotta look at getting goals. So, we gotta get back to doing what we do best and that's keeping clean sheets and also scoring goals,” he added.

“So, the focus will be mainly on those two things but we gotta keep the players feeling confident, feeling loose and go out and just perform at the highest level."

Dikwena tša Meetse remain at the foot of the table and are still searching for their first away win of the campaign, but their home form has been more encouraging.

In 11 matches on home soil, they have recorded three wins, three draws and five defeats.
