DStv Premiership wrap: Team of Choice fight for top-flight survival

Maritzburg United were the only winners in the DStv Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

It was a massive three points for the Team of Choice as they overcame TS Galaxy 2-1 away from home.

Jose Ali Meza opened the scoring at the Mbombela Stadium on just two minutes while Bernard Parker found an equaliser with 22 minutes on the clock.

But a penalty in first-half injury time from Amadou Soukouna sealed the win for Fadlu Davids' side to lift his team on to 24 points in 15th place, two adrift of Chippa United in 14th, and safety.

Galaxy ended the game in seventh with 30 points from 24 games.

Elsewhere, there was no separating Golden Arrows and Sekhukhune United as the two sides played out a goalless draw at the Princess Magogo Stadium.

Arrows would have been the more disappointed of the two sides after a relatively even encounter that left both teams out of the top eight, with the home side in 10th with 29 points and Sekhukhune in ninth, only marginally better off due to a superior goal-difference.
