Desiree Ellis names final Banyana Banyana squad to face Nigeria

Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis has named a 24-member squad that will face Nigeria in the final CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifier.

Regirl Ngobeni has been called up to replace Andile Dlamini who had to withdraw due to medical reasons.

The squad includes three goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders and six forwards.

This squad includes the return of defender Bambanani Mbane who got injured in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

University of Western Cape defender Lonathemba Mhlongo is also included with Asanda Hadebe who recently joined Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies not making the final cut.

Refiloe Jane, Nthabiseng Majiya have also made a comeback to the national team.
