Cesc Fabregas has hailed a historic night for Como after they announced themselves on the Champions League stage with an emphatic 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig.
Como produced an outstanding performance on Thursday to mark their first appearance in Europe's elite club competition in style, with Fabregas delighted that his players matched the occasion.
"It was a historic evening for the club and the fans, who will still be talking about it in 10 years' time," Fabregas said.
"That's the beauty of football. I hope the fans enjoyed it as much as we did."
The result capped a remarkable rise for Fabregas and Como. The former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder ended his playing career at the club in 2023 before moving into coaching and eventually taking charge of the team.
Como have also made an encouraging start to their Serie A campaign, collecting seven points from their opening three matches.
Fabregas will now turn his attention to domestic matters, with Como hosting Parma on Monday as they look to maintain their strong start to the season.
