This saw the students retaining their spot in the top four, with 13 wins after 25 outings.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Kutumela says it was important for them to redeem themselves from the loss against Mamelodi Sundowns ladies in the previous fixture.
“Well coming back from a loss against Mamelodi Sundowns it was very important for us to redeem ourselves. The win against City Lads was our way to uplift ourselves and bring that sense of relief and make sure we reinforce that self belief and confidence to face challenges ahead,’’ said Kutumela.
Kutumela unpacks how she got to transform the team to be a competitive side in their 2025 league campaign.
“We did our best to strike a balance in all positions and form a solid team. Though we have a challenge in certain areas where we had to convert certain players to achieve success. It worked for us in certain games and will definitely make sure the puzzle will be complete ahead of the last few games,’’ added Kutumela.
Next stop for TUT is against the University of Pretoria on 15 October.
Kutumela shares her expectations ahead of the clash.
“We need to make sure that we don’t drop points. It is a definite must win for us. A win will help us stay in the top, if we tick that box - we would have achieved our mandate this season. I look forward to that fixture,’’ she expressed.
