City suffered a 2-0 defeat to Magesi FC at Seshego Stadium in their second PSL Promotion/Relegation Playoff fixture on Saturday, which leaves them without a point, having opened their playoff campaign with a 1-0 loss to Milford FC at Athlone Stadium.
Despite their difficult start, Vreman insists his side must remain positive and continue believing they can turn their fortunes around in the remaining fixtures.
"Of course, but when you're expecting that you can have the result here then you are very disappointed, and that showed with us," Vreman told SABC Sport.
"I think it's also good, you have to be disappointed, so now we have a couple of days to pick it up and try again."
Reflecting on the performance, Vreman admitted City fell short in several key areas, particularly in attack, where they struggled to create clear-cut opportunities.
"Bad game for us, losing 2-0 here. If I look to myself and our team, that we didn't get enough chances [to score] – that's the only thing we can blame ourselves for," he added.
"But if there had come two moments in the game, especially in the first half, that were so, so important."
The Citizens will now need to win their remaining two matches away to Milford FC and at home to Magesi, while hoping that the two teams cancel one another out in their head-to-head fixtures, if they are to clinch promotion.
