The JVW star featured in four matches, including the final, where Banyana surrendered the title following a 2-1 extra-time defeat to Namibia on Sunday at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Thusi reflected on what the tournament meant to her and praised the youthful energy within the squad.
“Playing COSAFA for the first time meant a lot to me. I have been working very hard and had a great season in the Hollywoodbets Super League," said Thusi.
"The team did very well, everyone showed a lot of courage, and it was a blessing to experience the tournament with so many youngsters. They brought fresh and positive energy during camp."
Namibia’s Brave Gladiators claimed their maiden COSAFA title after 20 years of participation, edging Banyana 2-1 in extra time.
For Thusi, losing the championship on home soil remains a bitter pill to swallow.
“I was sad because I wanted to win my first gold medal for the national team. We gave our all, but things did not go our way," she added.
"I am proud of the team for reaching the final. It has been a difficult defeat to accept, especially because we were playing at home."
The 34-year-old applauded the team’s overall performance, highlighting their consistency and bravery throughout the competition.
“I believe the team worked very hard to remain consistent in every game. Our youngsters did very well - they were brave and showed a lot of courage.
"COSAFA was not an easy tournament. Many teams were preparing for WAFCON, so every match we played was tough,” Thusi concluded.
