The two teams began the match cautiously, with numerous fouls being committed before the first shots on target from either side after the half hour mark with Usuthu's Riaan Hanamub (33') and Mory Keita (34') forcing saves.
The two teams continued with their aggressive approach in the second half, with few chances being created from open play on either side.
Former AmaZulu striker Victor Letsoalo gave TS Galaxy the lead when he rose highest from a Mory Keita cross following a corner kick to give the visitors the lead in the 70th minute.
Usuthu substitute Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya grabbed the equalizer just eight minutes later as he tapped in from close range from an Athini Maqokola assist.
However, Galaxy went ahead again through Junior Zindonga in the 81st minute after good work from Kganyane Letsoeno.
The home side kept probing until Mlondi Mbanjwa shot found the back of the net (89') following an assist from Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya.
The Zimbabwean super sub then completed his brace from the bench and sealed all three points for the KwaZulu-Natal outfit two minutes into added time after a good cross from Maqokola.
The result sees AmaZulu move up to fourth spot on the league table whilst TS Galaxy remain in sixth spot.
