Ayesha Moosa excited ahead of new Spanish chapter

CD Argual Femenina’s newest acquisition Ayesha Moosa looks forward to experiencing football at a very high level in Spain.

Moosa will be running in the Segunda Federacion after spending almost four years with the University of Johannesburg ladies.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Moosa says she is waiting patiently for her visa to get sorted so that she can be right on time when the league starts mid-September.

“This has always been my dream to play in Spain. This is a step in the right direction. “Just waiting for my visa to get sorted so I can jet off. I cannot wait to connect with my new teammates,’’ said Moosa.

Moosa was instrumental for the Johannesburg outfit’s success in the Hollywoodbets Super League and in various cup competitions.

“My time with UJ has been nothing short of life-changing. It will always be a special chapter in my journey, and I would not change it for anything. I am grateful,’’ added Moosa.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder also recently earned herself the 2024 South African Football Journalists Association Player of the Year nomination.

She says it is an honour to be counted amongst the best footballers in the country.

“I feel incredibly honoured to be counted amongst the best in the country. This is a reflection of my hard work and consistency throughout the season,’’ said Moosa.

Moosa further shares her expectation with just a month away before donning a new club jersey.

“I look forward to contributing positively to my new team, but I will also make sure that I learn from my teammates. I will make use of every opportunity and keep growing. “This will allow me to put my hand up for the national team call-up.”
