This comes after his comment after they played their last game in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), losing to neighbours Bafana Bafana 3-2 at the Marrakech stadium earlier this week. Arubi is not looking to address his future at the international level now.
"Right now I just have to go back home and see what the future holds for me. I must see how far I still want to go when I go back to the club."
Arubi was playing only in his first AFCON tournament, despite having participated in the qualifiers before. His form has just been excellent, despite failing to keep a clean sheet in this tournament, his leadership has shone through.
He’s proud of what the team has managed to achieve in this tournament.
"Even though we are going out, I think we had a great tournament as a team, and I'm proud of the boys."
In the three matches they played, the Warriors were competitive in all of them ---they led against Egypt until the final 15 minutes, held Angola to a draw, and also came close to pulling off an upset against Bafana Bafana.
Zimbabwe had been banned from international football for close to three years and missed out on the qualification for the previous camp.
But with the new talent joining the team, Arubi sees better days ahead for the team...
