Arsenal assessing fitness of Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard ahead of Man City clash

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says they are still assessing the fitness of Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard ahead their Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday.

Saka has been missing since being replaced against Leeds four weeks ago while Odegaard, who missed the 2-0 win over Athletic Club in midweek, has been subbed off before half-time in the last three league matches with a persistent shoulder problem.

Meanwhile, defender Ben White, whose only appearance of the season came at Old Trafford during Arsenal's first game of the season, could also make a return.

Asked about the trio during his press conference on Friday, Arteta said: "If there is a chance, it will be after tomorrow's session because they haven't done anything yet, so we'll have more information tomorrow.

"Everything has been modified so far for them. There are still a few things to clear and tomorrow we'll have more information on whether they are part of the squad or if they have a chance to be part of the squad."

Arteta also praised the performances of Cristhian Mosquera, who has looked at home in central defence in the continued absence of William Saliba, who is back fit again.

The Gunners mentor added: "(Mosquera) is very good. I think credit to the scouting department and Andrea [Berta] that they presented the opportunity to have him.

"Again, as a boy, he's extremely focused, very determined, very clear that he wanted to come here and he wanted to come here to play and earn his place. I think what he's doing in that position, so early, is very impressive."
