Barring any unreported setbacks, the Dutchman expects to have near-complete availability for the trip to the City Ground.
Central to that optimism is the potential return of Alisson Becker. The Brazilian goalkeeper has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury during the 1-0 Champions League defeat away to Galatasaray on 30 September.
Initially projected to miss up to six weeks, he is now in contention to feature against Forest, offering a timely boost as Liverpool continue to juggle domestic and European commitments.
There is also encouraging news regarding Alexander Isak. The 125-million-pound British-record signing has not appeared for Liverpool since limping off in the 5-1 Champions League win at Eintracht Frankfurt on 22 October, departing the pitch shortly after Jeremie Frimpong.
Isak made the bench against Manchester City before heading off on international duty, where he played more than half an hour in Sweden's 4-1 defeat to Switzerland on Saturday. He was then an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw with Slovenia on Tuesday, but is expected to be ready to face Forest.
Frimpong, however, is unlikely to return this weekend. The off-season signing from Bayer Leverkusen has been recovering from a thigh injury sustained in that same match in Frankfurt, and Slot indicated 12 days ago that this fixture would probably come too soon for him.
Meanwhile, Giovanni Leoni remains in the early stages of his recovery from ACL surgery following the injury he suffered on his debut in the Carabao Cup win over Southampton on 23 September.
