Achraf Hakimi hat-trick fires PSG to emphatic Ligue 1 victory over Le Havre

Achraf Hakimi produced a superb individual performance, scoring a hat-trick and providing two assists as Paris Saint-Germain cruised to a 5-1 victory over Le Havre in Ligue 1 on Friday.

The result extended PSG's winning run to nine matches across all competitions and strengthened their position at the top of the table, while Le Havre remained the only team yet to win a league match this season.

Despite PSG dominating possession from the opening minutes, Le Havre took a surprise lead when Josh Maja finished off a low cross from Rayan Fofana after a quick attacking move.

However, the visitors responded strongly. Hakimi provided the assist for Mika Godts to equalise in the 26th minute before the Moroccan defender put PSG ahead two minutes later with a powerful finish. His goal was confirmed following a lengthy VAR review.

PSG carried their advantage into half-time and continued to control proceedings after the restart. Hakimi extended their lead in the 55th minute with a superbly struck free-kick that gave goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart no chance.

Le Havre briefly threatened to get back into the contest when Maja struck the woodwork just after the hour mark. However, PSG immediately punished the hosts, with Senny Mayulu taking advantage of Bodart's decision to rush out of his area before calmly finishing into an empty net.

Hakimi completed his hat-trick with 20 minutes remaining, although his third goal was less spectacular than his earlier efforts, as the ball bounced off him and into the net.

The remainder of the match was largely about damage limitation for Le Havre, who have now gone 10 home league matches without a victory since their last success in February.

PSG also continued their impressive record against Le Havre, extending their unbeaten run in the fixture to 13 matches, including six consecutive victories away from home.

Elsewhere in Ligue 1 on Friday, Nice defeated Rennes 5-2, with Elye Wahi scoring a hat-trick, while Lille claimed a 1-0 victory over Lens in the Derby du Nord thanks to an 86th-minute winner from substitute Olivier Giroud. The result lifted Lille into second place.
