AC Milan injury problems deepend with Loftus-Cheek and Nkunku in doubt

According to Sky Sports Italia, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is highly unlikely to play against Fiorentina on Sunday after initially being expected to be part of the starting lineup.

Serie A side is in the midst of a terrible injury crisis with Adrien Rabiot, Christian Pulisic, Pervis Estupinan and Ardon Jashari all ruled out already.

To make matters even worse, further reports on Sunday suggest Nkunku picked up a knock on international duty and was doubtful to be ready in time for the match against Fiorentina, making it six potential first-teamers out of action.

Loftus-Cheek apparently felt a twinge in his hamstring during the final training session leading up to the match on the weekend and faces a late fitness test to see if he will be available.

Santiago Gimenez and Rafael Leao are the leading contenders to take the place up front but neither of them are an ideal choice, with Gimenez still fatigued after returning from international duty with Mexico, while Leao only recently returned from an injury of his own.
