The club believe the cost places an unfair financial burden on travelling fans and risks damaging the relationship between supporters and Italian football.
In a statement, Milan stressed that supporters play a vital role in the sport's international appeal and warned that excessive ticket prices could undermine efforts to make Serie A more competitive against the Premier League and other major European leagues.
"The global appeal of Italian football depends heavily on the loyalty and passion of supporters of clubs like AC Milan," the club said.
"Charging those same fans excessive prices for away games is not only unfair, but undermines the unity of the league at a time when Italian football needs to come together to compete against the Premier League and other European leagues."
Milan have called on Serie A to introduce a league-wide limit on away ticket prices, following the Premier League's example. In England, away tickets are capped at 30 pounds.
The Italian club have also warned they could introduce a reciprocal pricing policy, subject to league regulations. Under the proposal, supporters of clubs that charge Milan fans higher prices could face increased ticket costs when visiting San Siro.
Milan said any additional revenue generated by such a policy would be "donated to Fondazione Milan to support charitable initiatives".
"Italian football cannot grow stronger by treating supporters differently based on the size of their club," the statement added.
The dispute reflects a long-running concern among Milan's ultras, with supporters' group Curva Sud previously boycotting an away match against Juventus in 2023 over ticket prices.
The group renewed its complaints last season over the cost of attending matches against Juventus and also accused Torino of charging visiting supporters excessive prices.
