Abdeslam Ouaddou casts doubt over Orlando Pirates future after securing historic title

Orlando Pirates boss Abdeslam Ouaddou has admitted feeling tired from the demands of a relentless season, as he reflected on a year of major success for the club.

In his debut campaign, he guided Pirates to their first league title in 14 years, alongside MTN8 and Carling Knockout triumphs, completing a standout domestic haul.

Despite the silverware, his post-match comments carried a cautious tone, with the coach suggesting he may struggle to continue unless he finds renewed energy and motivation.

His record for the 2025/26 season stands at 32 wins from 44 matches, with only five defeats across all competitions.

The remarks have left uncertainty over his future at the club, even as supporters celebrate a historic return to dominance.

"I work with passion, I work with love and it's difficult to lead such a big team like Orlando Pirates. It was a very difficult season and I'm tired, I'm very very tired," said Ouaddou.

"To be able to lead such a ship you need to be. I will sit and I will think - sit down with my management as well. I'm tired, we'll speak about next season, about what can happen.

"I need energy, I need power. Without energy. It will be difficult to continue. We will sit. I'm speaking with emotions. It was a long season with lots of pressure. And we'll speak, we will see."
