Stellenbosch agree deal for Devin Titus to join Moroccan champions


The club-to-club agreement sets the wheels in motion for a likely move for the 26-year-old to the Moroccan Botola Pro champions, who recently also secured the signature of South African striker Tshegofatso Mabasa on a free transfer.

Titus is a long-serving member of the Stellenbosch squad, having been with the club for six years after progressing through their academy. He recently signed a new contract despite interest from Betway Premiership rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, signalling his intention to remain at the Cape Winelands club.

However, Maghreb de Fes are understood to have triggered a buyout clause in that new deal and the move is now subject to Titus agreeing personal terms and completing a medical before the transfer can be finalised.

Interestingly, Titus featured for Stellenbosch on Tuesday night, scoring in a six-goal thriller that ended 3-3 against Polokwane City at the Seshego Stadium.

His appeared in that game despite negotiations taking place in the background over a potential departure.

Stellenbosch have experienced a significant squad turnover ahead of the 2026/27 season, with winger Langelihle Phili joining Chiefs among the notable departures. 

The club have also lost key players including defenders Thabo Moloisane and Athenkosi Mcaba to local rivals, while forward Ashley Cupido moved to Israel on loan, but Stellies did gain Given Msimango and Ashely Du Preez from Chiefs. 

Titus would become the latest Stellenbosch academy product to move on following the likes of the late Jayden Adams, Iqraam Rayners and Andre de Jong.

Should Titus agree personal terms, he is expected to be confirmed as a Maghreb de Fès player in the coming days.
