Western Province add to Bulls' misery after bonus-point win at Loftus

Western Province made it two wins from two in this season's Currie Cup after an entertaining 41-33 bonus-point victory against Blue Bulls at Loftus Versfeld on Friday.

The visitors scored four tries to the home team's five but it was the boot of Kade Wolhuter that was ultimately the difference between the teams.

The Western Province flyhalf scored a try while he also slotted three conversion and five penalties for a total of 26 points in the game.

It was Wolhuter that got the scoring underway with a penalty but the hosts responded with try by wing Sbu Nkosi.

WP scrumhalf Paul de Wet then ran in for a five-pointer after eighthman Keke Morabe did some good work down the left-hand touchline.

Wolhuter then scored out wide after wing Ruhan Nel engineered the try from a scintillating counter-attack.

Cornal Hendricks and Zak Burger went over for the Bulls though to give the home side a 19-18 lead at the halftime break.

Province hit the front early after the interval when Nel scored and Wolhuter added the conversion from the touchline.

The Bulls though kept on hitting back and once again took the lead as hooker Johan Grobbelaar and lock Francois Klopper went over for five-pointers.

The visitors however took the game away in the last 20 minutes as fullback Clayton Blommetjies went over for a try and Wolhuter added the conversion and then slotted three further penalties to seal the victory.
