This stat makes Kurt-Lee Arendse one of the most elusive in world rugby

Springbok Kurt-Lee Arendse was undoubtedly one of the most elusive players in world rugby in 2023.

According to Stats Perform's popular social media account, Opta Johnny, Arendse was the only player to gain over 90 metres per 80 minutes of the players that featured for over 800 minutes in major European club competitions in 2023.

Arendse averaged 94m with the ball in hand per match, ahead of Exeter Cheifs' Josh Hodge and Melvyn Jaminet of Toulon, who both averaged 83m.

The diminutive winger's eye for a gap and the pace to glide through it have been a sight to behold and he has quickly become a key player for the Bulls.

Helping unlock Arendse's speed at the Pretoria franchise are fellow Springboks Canan Moodie and more recently Willie le Roux. And long may it continue, as the Paarl native signed a contract extension to 2026. The Bulls showered Arendse with accolades in 2023, as he won the Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year and Fans Player of the Year awards at the club.

Arendse's form in the green and gold has also been electric, as he's run in 13 tries in his 15 Tests for the World Champion Boks.

Finish en KLA, as they say. . .
