Stormers set to lock in Feinberg-Mngomezulu as Kolbe comeback rumours swirl

The Stormers are looking to secure the services of flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu on a long-term deal while rumours continue to swirl around a possible comeback for Cheslin Kolbe.

According to Netwerk24, 23-year-old playmaker Feinberg-Mngomezulu is among a core group of players earmarked for "Project 2029" - a long-term plan to build sustained success in Cape Town as coach John Dobson looks to shape the franchise's future.

"We have an incredible generation of young players. The Western Province U21 team has won the provincial tournament for the past two seasons and is currently top of the log again," Dobson said. "We are very keen to keep the core of the current group together."

Dobson emphasized that experienced squad members will play a crucial role in mentoring the next generation. Springbok veteran Deon Fourie, 38, is seen as the perfect guide for young flanker Paul de Villiers, while hookers Lukhanyo Vokozela and Keagan Blanckenberg are expected to learn from 34-year-old Scarra Ntubeni.

Rising scrumhalves Imad Khan and Asad Moos, both 21, will also benefit from the presence of 35-year-old Bok No 9 Cobus Reinach, who joins the squad next season.

Meanwhile, Netwerk24 reports the Stormers are unlikely to pursue a return for Bok captain Siya Kolisi, but speculation continues to swirl around a possible homecoming for winger Cheslin Kolbe, who is currently playing in Japan.

Kolbe started his career in the Cape, representing Western Province and the Stormers from 2012-2017, but the Bok winger has spent the last seven years abroad, plying his trade in France before heading to the Land of the Rising Sun.
