According to Sunday newspaper Rapport, former World Rugby Player of the Year Pieter-Steph du Toit is set to return to South Africa to play for the Stormers again.

Du Toit is reportedly free to return to the Cape Town outfit at the end of May 2023 after his current contract with Japanese Top League side Toyota Verblitz expires.

A player like Pieter-Steph doesn't come cheap, but according to the report, a third party is willing to assist financially in bringing the star flanker back home.

Du Toit left the Stormers last year for Japan following a five-year stint in the Mother City.

Meanwhile, powerhouse Sharks and Springbok prop Thomas du Toit could soon be heading to England amid reports he is being headhunted by Premiership club Bath.

The 27-year-old served as Sharks captain under former head coach Sean Everitt before handing over the reins to Siya Kolisi when Neil Powell took over.

Outside of a short three-month spell with Munster in 2016, Du Toit has spent his entire professional rugby career in Durban dating back to 2014.

Bath coach Johann van Graan is currently in the process of overhauling his squad, and Du Toit is one of his targets along with Scotland star Finn Russell.
