South Africa’s U20 will face Georgia on Thursday evening in what Foote expects to be a physical Pool A encounter at the Avchala Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 18h30 (SA Time).
Speaking at a media press conference, Foote said they are bringing back several players who were not with the squad during the pre-tournament camp before traveling to Georgia.
"We are looking to bring guys back in that weren't necessarily with us in camp before we came over to Georgia."
The 47-year-old mentor said the rotation policy was communicated to the players before the tournament began.
He added that the goal was to ensure every player in the squad got an opportunity by the end of the second pool match in order to assess what his strongest side will look like.
"It's never easy because everyone performed well, but we were clear with the guys from the get go that we wanted to play everyone in the second game, and because of that everyone will be battle ready for the rest of the competition after these first two games."
Foote said he is aware of the changes Georgia have made by recalling overseas-based players, and he is anticipating a physical game from the hosts who lost 25-24 against Wales in their opening match.
Having already faced Georgia three times this year, Foote said the Junior Boks are well aware of their opponents’ strengths.
