The Cape Town franchise has already welcomed back some big names for the first of three matches this weekend. Starboy Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and double World Cup winner Damian Willemse are starting alongside fellow Springboks Evan Roos and Ben-Jason Dixon, while Deon Fourie is on the bench for Friday's clash against Scarlets.
But a raft of hefty reinforcements is also on the way.
Speaking to the press this week, Donson revealed the squad will be further boosted for their double-header in Italy, where they face Benneton and Zebre Parma.
"There's a platoon flying to Italy," quipped Dobson.
"Salmaan [Moerat] is back, and Warrick [Gelant] is back. Those guys are coming to Italy. Clinton Swart, Oli Kebble, Adre Smith and one of the physios. Adre came in today [Thursday].
"It's not a problem with the visa. Oli Kebble joined us very late, and Clinton also joined us very late, so it took a while because you've got to get Schengen and UK visas."
In addition, exciting new signing Cobus Reinach will also link up with the touring squad at a later stage. The Bok livewire has only just relocated from Montpellier to Cape Town.
"I think he needed to hang some pictures," joked Dobson.
"He just moved to Cape Town. If you work it out from when he left Montpellier, he has been in camp [with the Boks] literally the whole time.
"He will join us at some stage on the tour. Whether it will be this week, next week or the week after, but he literally wanted to get home for a bit, which we are good with.
"His break program will look a bit different to Sacha and Damian's, but he will join us on the tour. I think definitely for Benetton."
