Edinburgh set to welcome back Duhan van der Merwe for URC quarterfinal against Bulls

The Bulls will have to contend with Duhan van der Merwe in their URC quarter-final against Edinburgh, with the news that the Scotland winger is set to return from injury for the playoff clash.

Van der Merwe has been out of action for close to two months after injuring his ankle in a match against the Dragons on March 28, and Edinburgh coach Sean Everitt is delighted to be welcoming him back for the crunch clash on 31 May - albeit he could not 100% confirm his availability at this stage.

Duhan's older brother Akker is also likely to feature for the Bulls in the game, with the two siblings set to square off against each other in the must-win contest.

Despite being out of action for two months, Van der Merwe was still selected for the British & Irish Lions squad earlier this month, a measure of how highly he is rated.

"He's running and doing really well, so we're definitely hoping that we have Duhan for the quarterfinal," Everitt said.

Everitt also confirmed that winger Darcy Graham, who was surprisingly left out of the Lions squad and recently scored a hat trick against Ulster, has recovered from a heel injury.

"This week he was feeling much better, and you could see it in his performance. He's just got to keep on performing and make it really difficult for the Lions to leave him out should injuries occur."
