Eddie Jones reveals his Brave Blossoms to face all-conquering Boks

There is a South African flavour to the Japan team that will do battle against the Springboks at Wembley this Saturday.

Japan coach Eddie Jones has named Durban-born Dylan Riley at outside centre.  Riley is joined by former Sharks star Tyler Paul, who made his debut for Japan in last week's loss against the Wallabies in Tokyo.

Paul - who played for the Southern Kings and Sharks before moving to Japan in 2021 - is on the bench.

Elsewhere, Shuhei Takeuchi, Kenji Sato and Kenta Kobayashi will pack down in the froint row, while Warner Dearns and Jack Cornelsen will form the second row combination.

The back row will consist of talismanic captain Michael Leitch, Kanji Shimokawa and Ben Gunter.

In the backs, Lee Seung-sin runs out at flyhalf again, and his scrumhalf partner is the nippy Shinobu Fujiwara.

The aforementioned Riley and Charlie Lawrence will form the midfield combination. Yoshitaka Yazaki will start at fullback, and he is joined on the wings by Kippei Ishida and Tomoki Osada.

Japan - 15 Yoshitaka Yazaki, 14 Kippei Ishida, 13 Dylan Riley, 12 Charlie Lawrence, 11 Tomoki Osada, 10 Lee Seung-sin, 9 Shinobu Fujiwara, 8 Michael Leitch (c), 7 Kanji Shimokawa, 6 Ben Gunter, 5 Warner Dearns, 4 Jack Cornelsen, 3 Shuhei Takeuchi, 2 Kenji Sato, 1 Kenta Kobayashi.
