Kruger clinched the Junior Star of the Year and the Sportswomen of Year with a Disability where she was pitted against Kgothatso Montjane and Minke Janse van Rensburg.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Kruger says she is grateful to be counted amongst the best athletes in the country.
"Winning the two awards means so much to me, I'm super grateful, I have such a strong support system that I think is so proud of me. I think I can't even describe it in words because every single competition I've had tonight was such tough competition. So, winning both of them is just amazing," Kruger said.
Kruger adds to praise the Sports ministry for creating a national platform to honour sports excellence in the country.
"To the team for organising this, they've been treating us like kings and queens I think for the last two years, I was here for the previous ones also. I think without them, these types of events, these types of things wouldn't have happened so it's such an amazing thing to have it here," she added.
Kruger will be participating in two events at the upcoming Para-athletics World Championship taking place in India next month.
She says this reflects a successful run in 2024 and highlights her growth as a para-athlete.
"I just need to work harder because my journey has also been a bit, so I think there's other things that also encourage me like I only had, discus normally has an event but now shotput also has an event, so I have two medals to work for which is nice.
“This definitely encourages me, I think every award, every time someone recognises you, it definitely pushes you harder to work to achieve more this year."
