The former Boxing SA Female Boxer of the year is a seasoned fighter, having walked into her last fight in Pretoria with 15 victories out of 21 fights.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Hadebe says all she wanted was a win.
“What I can say, a loss or a win is part of the game at the end of the day. Even though a loss is not what we were expecting, we take it and make sure we bounce back harder,” Hadebe said.
An HSRC survey showed that a third (33.1%) of South African women over the age of 18 had experienced physical violence in their lifetime. While UCT’s research shows that 19.8% of adolescents reported some form of sexual abuse (boys 20%, girls 19%) over their lifetime, 11.7% reported having been forced to have sex.
With abuse against women and children being an epidemic in South Africa, the Limpopo born fighter uses boxing as a platform to fight for victims of sexual and domestic abuse.
“When you always have something to fight for, there's no way you can't bounce back from a defeat,” she added.
She goes on to say that she has no confirmed fight as of yet but will be going back to training.
“God is my number one go to, and I surround myself with my people. My next fight is still in discussion, and I'll be getting back to training soon.”
