Simangele Hadebe ready to defend her WBO All Africa flyweight Title

WBO All Africa flyweight champion Simangele ‘Smash’ Hadebe insists preparations are going well for her title defense against Sibulele “Lova” Soboois on 28 February.

This will be the main fight of the Fighters Club Promotions tournament happening in Pretoria at the Silverlakes Farm House later this month.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Hadebe says her team is making sure that the title stays in their camp.

“Preparations are going very well as we are getting ready for the 28th of February to defend my WBO Africa Title. I've got a very good sparring partner and also coach Vusi Mtolo in my corner. I’m looking forward to giving the best performance,” Hadebe said.

This tournament is promoted by Terry-Anne Hart, who has been key in the growth of women’s boxing in South Africa.

The SA Champion had previously voiced her frustrations of not having a lot of fights, she says she’s thankful to Fighters Club Promotions.

“I would love to get at least three fights a year, and this one is the first for the year. I'm grateful for the Fighters Club promotion. Getting another title would be one of my goals this year as well. A title bigger than the ones I've got,” she concluded.
