SASCOC set to announce decision on suspended Netball SA president in two weeks

SASCOC President Barry Hendricks has told SABC Sport that the investigation into suspended Netball South Africa (NSA) president Cecilia Molokwane is nearing its conclusion.

According to Hendricks, World Netball had requested seven weeks to complete its investigation, and only two weeks remain before the findings are handed over to the national Olympic body.

He assured the public that the full details of the matter would be revealed once the report is received.
Hendricks also confirmed that SASCOC will conduct its own review after receiving the final report from World Netball.

"This investigation should be wrapped up in the next two weeks, and this investigation must not be compromised because it relies on witnesses who give evidence.

"I've advised the minister and the portfolio committee chairperson to allow this matter to unfold, and once it is complete, we will perform the necessary inspections," explained the SASCOC President.

Hendricks, who was re-elected unopposed for a second term in November last year, has called for patience as the process unfolds.

Having previously faced suspension by SASCOC himself, he understands the frustration and uncertainty that comes with waiting for a final verdict.
Hendricks emphasized the importance of allowing sport to continue while the matter is being resolved.

The former Gauteng Sports Confederation president told SABC Sport that the sport is operating as normal. He confirmed his attendance at the Telkom Netball League in Sun City and said he also plans to be at the finals in Durban later this month.
