Kevin Lerena praises stacked ABP fight card despite cancelled Main Event

Aquila Boxing Promotion’s Kevin Lerena promises an action-packed night of boxing at the Galleria in Sandton on 25 July, this is despite the postponed bout between SD Pypers and Jarred Silverman.

The ‘Knockout Chaos 2’ fight card features some of the best up and coming names in local boxing, mixed in are a few veterans of the sport, but the card will be headlined by Lindokuhle Khuzwayo and Sabelo Ndwandwe contesting for the IBO-All Africa Featherweight title.

The ambassador of Aquila Boxing Promotions, Kevin Lerena says that without the bad blood matchup between Pypers and Silverman, the show must still go on.

“It’s going to be a massive evening, each event we do just gets bigger and better. I think fans can expect good action and great knockouts on the night. As you know only the main event has had to be postponed, SD Pypers sustained an orbital blow-out fracture which is very unfortunate. This is boxing though and there is nothing we or you can do. All we can do as Aquila Boxing Promotions is provide you with a stacked card. We can assure you that you will see Pypers vs Silverman either in September or October, but this is boxing. We will continue to honour our commitment to the fighters and the public.”

One of the men around whom this fight card has been built, Lindokuhle Khuzwayo says he can’t believe how far he’s come.

“This is a dream come true because I never thought I would reach this far coming from the rural areas in KZN, but God has been great. As for the fight I feel really good. I don’t want to give my prediction but all I can say is it will be an entertaining fight. “

The biggest selling point of Aquila Boxing Promotions is the knockout clock which incentivizes fighters to look for the knockout to guarantee an extra cash bonus. Kevin Lerena says fans are going to be treated to a spectacular showcase on Saturday night.
