Indomitable Aryna Sabalenka sets up blockbuster Miami Open semifinal against Elena Rybakina

Aryna Sabalenka was imperious in her Miami Open quarterfinal, earning another straight-set victory over a spirited Hailey Baptiste on Wednesday.

The world number one, who is yet to drop a set in Miami, had her hands full with the young American slugger, but found the timely breaks of serve to cruise to a 6-4, 6-4 win on the hard courts of the 305.

Sabalenka was better in the big moments. She saved all three break points in the opening set before clinching the set with a break of her own in the final game.

Baptiste showed grit in the second set to cancel out Sabalenka's break, but committed three double faults under pressure to give the Belarusian her first match point. While Baptiste saved it, Sabalenka crushed a forehand to close out the match.

The victory sets up a blockbuster semifinal against rival Elena Rybakina, who needed three sets to defeat fifth seed Jessica Pegula 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.

"I think it's definitely going to be a battle," Sabalenka said in her on-court interview.

"It's always a battle, always a fight, always a challenge. And I think we push each other to the limit, and we always bring the best tennis. I hope that it's really enjoyable for you guys to watch us play and I'm super excited to be playing her again."

Elsewhere, fourth seed Coco Gauff survived a comeback from Belinda Bencic to win 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 to book a semifinal against Karolina Muchova.
