Bryan Thysse defends SA Title in war of cousins

The highly anticipated family affair was a fight between two warriors with little regard for caution. 

Both fighters arrived in the ring with undefeated records, and yet fought with nothing to lose.

After a gruelling battle the judges' scorecards read 113-114, 116-111, and 115-112 in favour of Bryan Thysse.

The challenger and teacher by profession, Gerhard Thysse was quicker out of the blocks with slick combos and evasive movement, but Bryan Thysse managed to close the distance to work the body as the fight progressed.

In the build up to the fight, Gerhard Thysse stated emphatically,”We are going to give one another and the crowd one hell of a fight. We are not family on the night,” and he was proven correct with a clash to remember at Emperors Palace.

The Golden Gloves promoted, Sole Survivor Event dished up bruising heavyweight tussles and a technical main event, but the fight between the two cousins was undoubtedly the fight of the night.

Considering the close contested nature of this title fight, it is not impossible for the two Thysse cousins to reunite in the ring, but for now, foes became family once more.
