Tiger Woods confirms comeback at TGL, sparking excitement ahead of Masters

Tiger Woods is making his much-anticipated return to competitive golf this week, nearly six months after undergoing lumbar disk replacement surgery last October.

The 15-time major winner announced on Monday that he will tee up for his team, Jupiter Links Golf Club, on the final night of the TGL season in Florida.

Woods has been part of the indoor league in a non-playing capacity throughout the 2026 campaign, serving as an adviser and unofficial cheerleader for his team while recovering from both the back operation and a left Achilles tendon rupture he suffered last spring.

On Tuesday night, he will join forces with Anthony Kim and Max Homa for their showdown against Los Angeles Golf Club, represented by English duo Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose, along with American Sahith Theegala.

Woods' return comes just a fortnight before The Masters, sparking excitement about a potential appearance at Augusta National, though he has yet to confirm whether he will play.

Reflecting on his fitness last week, Woods said: "I said I've been working on it. Sometimes I have good days, sometimes I have bad days. Disk replacement is not a lot of fun. So as I said, I've had a lot of procedures prior to that, so the body doesn't quite heal like it was when I was 24. Doesn't quite bounce back. I have good days when I can pretty much do anything, and other days where it's hard to just move around."

This TGL appearance will mark Woods' first fully competitive event since he missed the cut at the Open Championship at Royal Troon in July 2024, giving fans a chance to see the legendary golfer back in action as he continues to work his way back to full fitness.
