Maduna earned two caps during the recently concluded Spar Challenge, where the Spar Proteas sealed a dominant Test series victory over England at Ellis Park.
Speaking to SABC Sport, she says the experience has raised her standards as she prepares to return to domestic action with the KZN Kingdom Stars.
“I am very happy to have been part of the Proteas team in the Spar Challenge. The standard here is different to what I am used to, and I know I am going back to club netball as a much better player,” said Maduna.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a standout 2025 season, leading the Kingdom Stars to Division One promotion in the Telkom Netball League, a performance she believes played a key role in earning her a national call-up.
“I had a decent season last year and that gave me confidence. Being here now motivates me to keep performing, especially with the Commonwealth Games coming up,” she added.
Maduna says her appearances against the Vitality Roses provided valuable lessons, despite limited game time.
“I’ve learnt what is required when playing against top opposition, particularly around combinations and contributing to the team setup. I’m grateful for the opportunity and the lessons,” she expressed.
