NSA CEO Modiegi Komane reassures fans to anticipate a successful running of 2025 TNL season

Netball South Africa CEO Modiegi Komane reassures fans to anticipate a successful running of the 2025 Telkom Netball League despite the ongoing federations internal issues.

The 2025 TNL season kicks off this weekend, with week 1 fixtures taking place until 4 May 2025.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Komane says the netball fraternity can expect another unforgettable season of netball.

“TNL will continue to be South Africa’s most anticipated Netball showcase. This is the best and the cream of Netball South Africa, which is a semi professional league. We look forward to seeing the country’s top netball talent battle it out on court. We promise another unforgettable season of netball,’’ said Komane.

The tournament will be taking place for the second time in the platinum province since 2021, it follows last year’s successful showpiece in Johannesburg. Komane says they are excited to revive the sport in that part of the country.

“As NSA we are excited to be going to Sun City, around the Pilanesberg resorts, a venue for tourists. So we are happy to experience the platinum district. We are excited to contribute to the economy there and to revive the sport in the province,’’ she added.

This season the tournament welcomes the Baby Proteas as one of the participating teams, this helps to allow coach Precious Mthembu some time to prepare for the upcoming Netball Youth World Cup taking place in Gibraltar. Komane says they welcome the national team and expects them to perform at optimal best ahead of the world showpiece in September.

“In welcoming the new teams, which are the Baby Proteas and the Zimbabwe national team. We are delighted as NSA, we welcome them to the tournament and we would like to encourage all of you to pour your heart out on the court. We also want to see how this competition shapes your journey ahead of the big crown. Baby Proteas keep shining and do make us proud on the local and international stage,’’ she expressed.
